Kwikstage Two-Coat Paint System

Many within the industry will be aware, this type of painted finish is by no means a revolutionary or new option, being used for many years for certain types of customer requirements. St Helens Plant can offer the two-coat paint system in any required RAL/BS colour, with the collection, refurbishment and return of your scaffolding stock included.

Why is the Two-Coat Paint System Applied?

St Helens Plant, as the UK’s only all-encompassing manufacturer, repairs and reconditioning specialist. Regularly see Kwikstage through our facility that has not been reconditioned at regular periods.

The difference we see nowadays, is genuine Kwikstage – that was originally manufactured and now still manufactured by St Helens Plant Limited – is finished with a one-coat fully dipped, part Zinc-Phosphate paint.

This process provides the equipment a good standard of protection and lifespan.

Unfortunately, over the years due to recessions and budgets the equipment has not had regular inspections and painting therefore, giving the opinion – that the equipment looks not fit for purpose.

Many types of Kwikstage nowadays, are painted using non-zinc phosphate finishes, resulting in a system nowhere near as protected or long-life as original Kwikstage, once was.

There are very good alternative galvanised systems coming into the market, with the general industry view of – Kwikstage will be left behind.

The MD and owner Gordon Brown, has gone with this new recommendation of a fully dipped primer – then another fully dipped top coat of silver. Providing our customer with a fully reconditioned Kwikstage scaffolding stock. That is safe, long-lasting and aesthetically impressive.

Safe Access Highland Ltd have recently added an alternative galvanised system to their scaffolding stock. Whilst also opting to still utilize their Kwiksatage, as a paid asset – on projects ideal for the Kwikstage system.
