Props Repair & Reconditioning
Stronger. Smarter. Site-Ready.

Acrow props take a hammering on site — but replacing them every time isn’t sustainable. At St Helens Plant, we recondition props to original working spec, offering full repainting in any RAL or BS colour. From straightening to thread repair and coating, we restore strength and extend lifespan.

Shot Blasting

Props are cleaned to bare steel using controlled blasting, removing rust, concrete and paint build-up without weakening the steel.

Structural Integrity Checks

We inspect for cracks, weld fatigue, thread wear and deformities, ensuring each prop is fit for heavy-duty reuse.

Straightening & Repair

Bent or twisted props are realigned using hydraulic presses and skilled manual correction to meet original tolerances.

Protective Re-Coating

Props are repainted using a two-coat system in any RAL or BS colour, offering corrosion resistance and easy on-site ID. Tough, industrial coatings.

Stacked, Bundled, Site-Ready

Finished props are sorted, bundled and ready for delivery — minimising your handling time and streamlining logistics.

Cost-Saving with Manufacturer Pricing

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Acrow Prop Repair & Refurb – FAQs

What’s included in your Acrow prop reconditioning service?
We clean each prop to bare metal, inspect for damage, straighten if bent, and repaint using your chosen RAL or BS colour. The props are then bundled and returned ready for use. The process restores both structural integrity and professional presentation.
Do you shot blast props before repainting?
Yes — shot blasting is a key part of our process. It removes rust, old paint, and concrete residue to ensure maximum adhesion of the new protective coating and allows us to assess the steel underneath for any damage.
Can bent or twisted Acrow props be fixed?
In most cases, yes. We use hydraulic tools and precision jigs to realign bent props and sleeves back to specification. If a prop is beyond safe repair, we’ll flag it during inspection.
Are props tested for safety after repair?
Every prop is manually inspected after reconditioning to ensure it’s fit for site use. We check threads, welds, locking mechanisms, and straightness to ensure safe performance under load.
Do you recoat in any colour?
Yes — we offer protective finishes in any RAL or BS colour. This allows for fleet colour matching, contractor branding, or colour-coded sizing for easy site use.
Is this suitable for resale preparation?
Absolutely. Many clients refurbish props to increase resale value or meet presentation standards for resale or hire. Our finish looks as good as new and is ready for immediate distribution.
How fast can you turn around a batch of props?
Turnaround time depends on quantity and condition, but most jobs are completed within 5–10 working days. We’ll confirm an accurate lead time with your quote.
Is there a minimum order quantity for bespoke items?
There’s no strict minimum — we regularly work on one-off custom builds. That said, if you're planning a larger rollout, we can offer discounted batch pricing and branding options for volume orders.
Do you recondition different prop types and sizes?
Yes — we recondition all standard Acrow prop sizes (0–4) and heavy-duty variants. If you’re unsure whether your batch is eligible, just ask — we can inspect and advise.
Can I choose between matte, gloss, or anti-corrosion paint finishes?
Yes — we offer several finish options depending on your requirements. Let us know if you're after durability, visual presentation, or both, and we’ll recommend the best system.
Do you offer collection and delivery?
We provide nationwide collection and delivery for reconditioning jobs. Props are returned bundled, labelled, and site-ready for immediate use or storage.
