At Interserve Industrial Services we operate one of the largest scaffolding fleets within the UK. To ensure that we offer quality equipment to our diverse customer base we continually refurbish and invest in our comprehensive fleet.

As an approved supplier, St Helens Plant provide us with services including refurbishment and manufacturing capability of approved scaffolding equipment to our strict internal design standards, inherently linked to the original manufacturing approvals through GKN Kwikform. We are delighted that St Helens Plant have been nominated for a CN specialist award and fully endorse their service to the industry.

Over the past four years  we have taken through our refurbishment program over 1,400 tones of equipment equating to over 126,000 items of scaffolding product .

Our substantial annual capital investment program in new equipment also continues to increase which is supported through the St Helens Plant manufacturing facility where appropriate.

We look forward to another successful year working with the St Helens’ team and having them as an approved supplier.

Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd has been a continuous user of  Kwikstage System Scaffold since their initial purchase of equipment in 1976, providing 39 years of ‘incident’ free access and shoring to many construction sites.

Our Kwikstage fleet originates from the genuine manufacturer GKN Kwikform.

In 2012 a refurbishment programme was instigated. Since then around 600 tonnes, or over 76,000 items,  have been Inspected and reconditioned by St Helens Plant whom themselves are an approved manufacturer and reconditioner of Kwikstage scaffolding.

St Helens Plant follow the strict manufacturer’s inspection procedure TI 20000, that ensures our equipment is fit for purpose and in line with the original manufactures recommendations.

Sir Robert McAlpine intend to continue with their reconditioning program on an ‘as required’ basis, and are pleased  to have the facilities provided by  St Helens Plant to instigate this. Our fleet of Kwikstage is still perfectly fit for purpose, due entirely to our own internal inspection process  and the regular maintenance provided by St Helens Plant.

Sir Robert McAlpine are happy to continue the relationship and remain a regular Client of St Helens Plant.

Here at Actavo UK ltd (formally Deborah Services Ltd) we pride ourselves with a reputation of providing quality products with safety being our top priority.

Over the 11 Years we have been operating with St Helens Plant we have built up a strong business relationship though these shared values.

In addition to their manufactured products we have used their complete refurbishment service which cover a comprehensive range ensuring that contractors are always using equipment built to last and returned to our fleet in next to new condition.

Many thanks to Gordon Piling and his team for making all this possible.

I just wanted to compliment STHP on your yard staff.

I picked up my second order from your yard today, a week later than I originally said, and although this must have been irritating for the forklift Driver who had to find, he was very friendly and helpful, as were the yard staff I met on my previous visit.

Great service and good value purchases.  Many thanks.

We have been asked to submit an endorsement of our business dealings with St Helens Plant Ltd.

The companies first started trading with each other 8 years ago. Since that time we have utilized the engineering expertise of SHP to solve a number of issues regarding the supply and maintenance of our Hire and Sale stock.

SHPs engineers and in particular their MD Gordon Pilling are essentially “can do” people.  They hit the target without compromising their high fabrication and repair standards.

The company is to our mind unique in the industry and bring a refreshing attitude to our industry with exacting and timeous results.

Our business has benefited from this relationship and allowed us to compete successfully in a lively competitive market.

As a start-up Scaffolding business ‘F&S Scaffolding Management Ltd’ would not have prospered without the support of St Helens Plant.

As a fledgling business with a lack of trading history, St Helens Plant were vital to our business when hiring scaffolding, the initial hire terms offered were extremely beneficial to us as a business in the early days.

It was not only the financial assistance Gordon the Managing Director provided, he made himself available for general business advice, advice on purchasing scaffolding, transport and generally very supportive of our Company.

I would like to endorse St. Helens Plant Ltd and acknowledge them for the amount of help, advice and encouragement they given to me on my recent start up journey. Nobody could have facilitated me any better.

They were available at any time to help and often went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I was comfortable in all aspects of my business.

One particular area was their refurbishment plant being available for my Irish customers and that my customers were aware and familiar with their services. After the downturn in the Irish market and the considerable amount of downtime on the Kwikstage Scaffolding in particular it was very important that the end user of this product was very aware of its likely failure. After getting some of my customers to avail of their services and noting the vast improvement and certification of their once “tired” product it was a win win situation for everybody. This area of their business alone is so important in the Health and Safety of the end user.

They have many more strings to their bow and I would just like to concentrate on their ability to manufacture bespoke products thus enabling companies like mine to sort various problems that my customers encounter on site on a day to day basis.

I would like to wish continued success to Gordon and all his helpful staff at St. Helens Plant Ltd.

At Joint Venture Scaffolding Ltd, our roof edge protection, netting & fall arrest services offering, is entirely reliant upon our professional installation methods, safety track record, but more crucially the utilisation of bona fide, robust, industry recognised components – STHP have single-handedly enabled this for us.

Recognition of their meticulous, fastidious attention to detail, coupled with a positive & upbeat, can do, approach to getting the job done safely, first time around, makes them perfect candidates and recipients of such an accolade.

Despite having a combined industry experience amounting to decades, without the considerable financial support, as well as the facility of an entire infrastructure of premises, materials & transport; from STHP – we simply would not be in business today.

Thankfully, after exhaustive due diligence, we were able to tap into Gordon’s (STHP’s), industry knowledge, specialist safety system components & prerequisite working capital – all at a time when the banks were extremely risk-averse concerning new start-ups & in particular, anything construction related.

SJS Scaffolding is a new, young and dynamic scaffold contracts company that’s been able to grow from a standing start in a relatively short space of time.

St Helens Plant have enabled us to have an affordable source of scaffolding with terms designed for new start-ups. SJS Scaffolding has benefited from financial guidance and support alongside business advice and outstanding terms in line with the budget and current start-up costs.

Without the support, advice, supply of safe, high quality scaffolding and safety systems, SJS Scaffolding would not have gained the clientele and contracts or be the position we are today.

The majority of our customers have been gained due to the close association with St Helens Plant being looked upon by many as a sign of quality.
